Nicklas Bendtner wants goals, games and trophies this term.

The Danish striker has played in both of Arsenal’s pre-season games so far and set up the equaliser for Theo Walcott at Szombathelyi on Tuesday night.

The 2007/08 campaign was Bendtner’s first in Arsène Wenger’s full squad. The 20-year-old responded with nine goals in 17 starts plus 23 appearances from the bench. He aims to increase the first two numbers next season and decrease the third. And the trophy count could do with adding to as well.

“I know everybody talks about winning things,” said Bendtner. “But that is what it is all about this year. I want to try and take a trophy home.

“I do set myself targets [in pre-season]. The main thing for everyone I think is to play a lot and of course I want to get more regularly into the squad.

“Then I want to progress in my own game. I want to prove to everyone what I can do.”

If Bendtner wants trophies, imagine how fabregas and Toure must be feeling? They must be so desperate now after playing for so many years in the first team with not much rewards.
