Van Der Vaart has a clause that says he can go for 1 mil euro next year. I dont think Wenger is going to pay 18 mil for a guy that can go at that price next year.

The going rate for Van Der Vaart is around 6 mil euro. If we do get him, it will be a great addition to our squad!
