Arsenal are in line to sign Roma's Italy international midfielder Alberto Aquilani, who rejected the chance to move to Chelsea when he was 16.

Aquilani (23 years old) has already spoken to Arsenal and is being considered as a replacement for Mathieu Flamini, who left last week to join AC Milan on a free transfer.

In 2001, manager Claudio Ranieri offered Aquilani a lucrative contract at Chelsea but the Rome-born midfielder preferred to stay with the team he supported as a boy. He is now valued at about £12 million

Why is Le Boss willing to spend 12 mil but not willing to change the wage structure to convince Flamini to sign? Well, i guess Le Boss knows......

anyway, i am happy that we are going to sign some international and not some unknown promising youngster again.

Go Gunner!

is this real?
sometimes, its the player's agent who try to make up stories to boost the prices of the players.

anyway, i dont think Aquilani is some star at all.

i read it off the internet.
it looks legitimate to me.

Agreed, he is no superstar but who else can we sign if Le Boss do not want to pay much money?

i don't think arsenal will buy Alberto Aquilani because he don't want leave Italy.
But the situation isn't very clear becuse he's negotiating the renewal of his contract and i think that if he leaves AS Roma he will go to Juventus or Inter...
excuse me if my English isn't very good but i'm Italian and here, with you, i hope to improve it
