ARSENAL legend Bob Wilson has backed Aaron Ramsey to become Arsene Wenger’s next big thing ... joining Theo Walcott as the British revolution starts at The Emirates.
The former League and FA Cup double-winning goalkeeper is convinced Ramsey has got what it takes to become a huge Arsenal star and insisted the 17-year-old could not have chosen a better mentor than Wenger.
Having worked with the Frenchman for seven years as Arsenal’s goalkeeping coach, Wilson is well placed to make such claims.
And, while he has warned Ramsey not to expect a place in the first XI straight away, he is convinced Wenger will ensure the youngster realises his outstanding potential and becomes a big figure in Arsenal’s future.
With one eye on a potential midfield partnership with the imperious Cesc Fabregas, Wilson reckons the Welshman’s arrival should be met with even more excitement than that of £12m man Walcott.
“When you look at him as a 17-year-old, Aaron has caught the eye even more than Theo did,” Wilson explained. “And he is tailor made for the Arsene Wenger mould of young talent.
“He is athletic, quick and already has brilliant quality on the ball. He has everything he needs to become a star at Arsenal.
