It is reported that Joe Cole has agreed to sign for Arsenal after the World Cup.
He is expected to sign a four-year contract at the Emirates in a deal similar to the one Sol Campbell signed when he joined from Spurs on a free in 2001.That will see Cole’s potential earnings hit £100,000 a week.
It represents a great piece of business by Wenger, who has seen off competition for Cole from Champions League rivals Manchester United and Tottenham.
Manchester City and Liverpool were also in the hunt for the 28-year-old, but it favoured Arsenal that Cole is settled living in London.
The question now remains: Is Cole the replacement for Fabregas or is he the next partner in midfield with Fabregas?

Certainly a good news of hearing we might add Joe Cole in our squad. Finally, another experienced player.Actually,J.Cole was a real talented player that I might admired a long time but his talent was overshadowed by a bad season of injuries in Chelsea.
For Fabregas to leave is real bad just like T.Henry leaving us but we still moved on again as ARSENAL.
All of us are still awaiting another GK in our squad.

Am I the only Arsenal fan who thinks buying Joe Cole is ridiculous? We need alot of players in alot of positions, but an attacking midfielder is the one position we don't need.
Even if Fab goes, we've got Arshavin, Nasri, Ramsey, Wiltshire and Rosicky. I don't rate Joe Cole that highly anyway, I think he is vastly overated and a very inconsistent and lazy player. But even if he was a great player, it's not the type of player we need. We need the likes of Yaya Toure to add steel to our midfield, or a similar ballwinner/DM (but Wenger doesn't see this), we need top defenders to come in and strengthen our defence, especially with Gallas possibly leaving (But Wenger doesn't see this) we need a class goalkeeper to replace the useless Almunia and the awful Fabianski and we need a top striker because of injury problems with Van Persie and Eduardo, and the fact that Bendner is shit.

I quite agree with MattMatt. Joe Cole is not bad, but... another attacking midfielder? Why?
My priorities would be a DM, a CB, a GK, and a striker...

Quality players should be welcomed. Joe Cole can be played as a 2nd striker, but i agreed we need to focus and buy a DM, GK and 2 more CBs.

Yeah, I read it. I don't really know what's true, but I think we should focus on a DM, a CB, a GK, and a striker.
