Bendtner could miss the start of the new Premier League season because of a groin injury. He had surgery to rectify the problem in November last year, but said the pain had returned during Denmark's World Cup campaign in South Africa.

The 22-year-old said he struggles to get out of bed at times and has cut short a holiday to return for scans. "I have spoken to Arsenal throughout the holiday and I am having a big scan when I return this week," he said. "My whole body must be scanned to find out where the groin problem really comes from. I still feel pain and it is very frustrating."

Hmm, never see anything on the official site on this.

Bendtner believes the injury is linked to a car accident in September last year, and he subsequently had surgery in November following Arsenal's 3-0 win over rivals Tottenham.

He started up front in all three of Denmark's World Cup group games, scoring in the 2-1 win over Cameroon, as the 1992 European champions missed out on a place in the last 16.

But the injury has flared up once again, leaving Bendtner uncertain about his fitness ahead of the Gunners' first match of the season, against Liverpool on 14 August.

"I still feel quite bad in my groin," he told the Mirror newspaper. "Sadly it hasn't been better during my holiday like I expected it to be, giving it nothing but rest, and that worries me a lot.

"I had hoped, and counted on, that a total break from football and training would heal the injury but it hasn't happened.

So shd he have played in the World Cup at all?

Who is next? RVP? I certainly hope not... fingers crossed..

Wenger said the other day that Bendtners injury didn't look 'too serious' so hopefully he won't be out too long.
We've got plenty of attacking options anyway, can't wait to see Chamakh turn out in an Arsenal shirt...

I think it goes without saying Coolman the RVP is going to pick up some sort of injury during the season, i dont think he has played a whole season yet has he? As we all know he is quite injury prone
