Scottish FA chief executive Gordon Smith has added his voice to the calls from Celtic players urging UEFA to ban Arsenal striker Eduardo after he appeared to dive to win a controversial penalty in Arsenal's 3-1 Champions League play-off victory at the Emirates.

Arsenal's comprehensive 5-1 aggregate win was marred when Croatian international Eduardo, making only his second start of the season for the Gunners, fell to the ground as Celtic goalkeeper Artur Boruc made a challenge in the 28th minute.

The simulation conned Spanish referee Manuel Mejuto Gonzalez and the striker scored from the penalty spot to open the scoring.

So is it a penalty? More importantly, is it important? Does anyone believe that celtic could have overcame us? And separately, how many players (i.e World's Best Player) have done it?

Honestly, I am still not very sure if he has simulated the fall. Though I think the evidence is more on him really doing it..... But for Gordon Smith to come out so strongly on this, hmm....

I just want this storm to be over and for our team to concentrate on beating manure on saturday.

For me it was a defenite dive and thats alot coming from me considering who it was against. It would have made no difference in the outcome but I just hate players diving.... Don't get me wrong I enjoyed Arsenal getting a penalty and scoring against them but in fairness it should be irradicated. Its done now and I don't think he will be punished for it.

What the &^*T. as much as I hate to admit,He dived.But So? Didnt Ronaldo or kaka or Ronaldino or even Messi dive before? How about Maradona's hand of god?

What matters is we have Qualify & won comfortably ove Celtic.They are not our match although I respect their team highly.
These Diving is blown out of proportion & Fabregas Got a Point here whereas the Famous C.Ronaldo aka Diveman who dives a lot than his yellow cards & gets away more often than we could think of.
As Far as I'm concern on the match,Eduardo did not intention to dive..He trips over imbalancely!!! On the Ref's point of view,it's a penalty!!

Even without penalty,without fabregas,Arshavin or RVP..We could still beat Celtic without major 1st..team starters!!!

Yeah, he dived, and I don't like it, but everybody does so. What about Rooney, then?

as Ash1986 said.. yes... Drogba must be banned first because we saw him diving several times in the previous ECL semifinals.... and how about Ronaldo and Rooney???
