Arsene Wenger has confirmed that Nicklas Bendtner has been fined by Arsenal after the striker was, quite literally, caught with his pants down this week.
The Denmark international was pictured emerging from Boujis nightclub at 4am on Wednesday morning, just hours after his side had been eliminated from the Champions League by Manchester United.
In a bizarre detail, Bendtner’s belt was undone and his trousers had dropped to expose his underwear as he was escorted away from the nightspot.
The striker subsequently apologised for his actions but that has not prevented The Gunners from taking disciplinary action against their player.
When asked if he was disappointed with Bendtner’s behaviour, Wenger answered: “Yes.
“That is not acceptable and he has been fined by the club.”
Bendtner has enjoyed his most productive season in an Arsenal shirt, scoring 13 goals in 47 appearances in all competitions.
