The only present Wenger wants is a better performance against Slavia Prague on Tuesday than the one put in against Bolton at the weekend.

"It's a day like every other day,” said Wenger. “I already have many socks so I don't need them. I will watch Newcastle-Tottenham. Maybe I will have a glass of wine at home, but that is it. I was never a great celebrator of birthdays: I will have a quiet night and prepare for the next day's game.

I hope the guys can give him his belated birthday present tomorrow.
