The crazy news is out. Walt Disney is interested to coming to the BPL by buying over Derby. They are in discussions to take over the struggling side - a team in need of fresh blood cum finances.

Is this a viable investment? The statistics have shown that poor returns for football clubs are notorious. Unless you love the sport, it will be unbearable to bankroll a club and it is akin to flushing money down the toilet.

However, Disney is the second largest media and entertainment conglomerate and money is not much of an issue. In 2006, Disney reported revenues of $34.3 billion. Splashing out a few million dollars to revive a club should be small change.

So, will Derby be relegated but saved by the millions pumped into it if the takeover really happens?
