Adebayor: I'm Gunner stay put 4 Months, 2 Weeks ago Karma: 7
EMMANUEL ADEBAYOR fears he has blown his move to Barcelona.
The Spanish giants are unimpressed by the Arsenal striker’s attitude and will not pay the £37.5million asking price.
And Adebayor told a team-mate: “I’m not sure if I’m going to leave now.”
AC Milan dropped out of the chase for the Togo star and Barca coach Pep Guardiola is not happy with his massive wage demands and the attitude of Adebayor’s advisors.
The striker is after £120,000 a week — four times his current wages.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger was furious that Adebayor, 24, turned down a new £60,000-a-week Arsenal deal — twice his current pay. Defender Kolo Toure is recovering from malaria at the Gunners’ Austrian training camp and expects to be fit for the new season.
He could even feature in some of the pre-season friendlies.
Wenger warns Ade:"You can't hold Arsenal For Ransom" and we won't go mad to keep you".

Looks like this Gold Digger has to score more if he wants Barca or Milan to run after him next season,hehehe...

For me, Ade is still young..he's being influenced by his agent for a shortcut to highway success..It's all up to him and the fans of Arsenal now to stand by his back once more.

yes.i agree on this experience part.Currently, he has a big head of thinking he can match King henry after scoring 30 goals on one season.
he still has a long way to go to gain experience.he need to learn the trade of dribbling, accelerate at high pace and then only can talk about matching Henry.hehehehe

so what happens if we do indeed retain him and he scores 35 goals next season? Will he depend a new pay like Henry's again? I quite disappointed with this guy. I was thinking we should just sell him now...... and get someone who is loyal to Arsenal. Then again, who can provide 30++goals in a season?

sigh.. wish he kept quiet and did not flip flop his answers so much. then at least it would not hurt so much.

I was pissed by Ade's play-acting on transfer issues and even more pissed off by the departure witch Helb that still trying to ruin Arsenal's team by calling fabregas to join him at Barca.
Ade should be working harder upfront now to boost up his stock price to get more attention from other clubs to buy him.
IF any clubs are still interested with his tag price of 30mil or above...Please get him off Arsenal..we'll buy someone else instead..

I can't understand him. Go or stay?
Wenger is right. we won't be mad to keep him. we shouldn't keep a player who loves money more than the team.

ADE will remain at Arsenal

Emmanuel Adebayor is happy to remain part of the Arsenal “family” and insists the Gunners can achieve something special next season.

The 24-year-old, who smashed 30 goals last season, had been sending out mixed messages over his future during the summer, with AC Milan and Barcelona both showing more than a passing interest in the £35million-rated striker.

However, Adebayor – plucked from Monaco in January 2006 – dismissed all the rumours as pure conjecture and confirmed he would be staying with the Gunners, having agreed to sign a new contract extension.

Adebayor, though, is not resting on his laurels.

“When I was on holiday I never went on to the internet, I never read the newspapers, so to be honest I was with my family so my phone was off, so I didn’t know what was happening,” he said.

“When I came back I realised what was happening – but, you know, the thing has happened already so now the most important thing is behind me and I will show everyone this club has given me a lot of things.

“Now I can tell everyone that yes, I will sign a contract.

“I have four more years’ contract. I am very happy that we have found a solution to stay here and my heart is with Arsenal.

“All I have to do is play my football and I know the fans always love me, so there is no reason to not love me anymore because I am still here.

“Now we have to work hard together as a family and to deliver better than what we did last season.”

Adebayor – who is expected to feature for Arsenal against Juventus in the Emirates Cup this afternoon – has his sights set high.

He added: “What we hope to achieve is the title and the Champions League.

“It is true we are young – but we know that if we put our hearts together and we work as a family we can achieve something.”

The move will have come as welcome news to manager Arsene Wenger, who certainly could have done without another player leaving the club after seeing Mathieu Flamini, Alexander Hleb and Gilberto depart.

Yet despite adding 21-year-old France playmaker Samir Nasri, Welsh teenager Aaron Ramsey and Portugal Under-21 midfielder Amaury Bischoff, the Arsenal manager concedes he would prefer to bring in another “experienced” body before the transfer deadline at the end of the month.

However, whether or not that will be Aston Villa’s unsettled captain Gareth Barry – rated at £18million and also a summer-long target for Liverpool - remains to be seen, with the midlands club now insisting he is staying put.

“I don’t think that the best tactic is to come out with names,” said Wenger, when asked if he was set to make an 11th-hour swoop for Barry.

“If we can do one more signing we will do, it but it will need to be quality.”
